Relief pitcher Joba Chamberlain gave up a three run home run to David Dellucci in the eighth inning as the Yankees lost to the Indians by the score of 5-3 on Tuesday night.  Chamberlain who is usually lights out is now 1-2 on the season.

Yankees starting pitcher Andy Pettitte pitched 6 1/3 innings as he gave up five hits and two runs.  Pettitte pitched well enough to win the game and probably should have if Chamberlain wouldn’t have had bad control and gave up the three run home run.

Jason Giambi had two RBI at the plate for the Yankees and Robinson Cano had one RBI in the game.

With the loss, the Yankees record dropped to the .500 mark at 17-17 on the season.

Joba Chamberlain has lost his first game in the Major Leagues.  The relief pitcher gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth inning when Joe Crede singled in the winning run as the White Sox beat the Yankees 7-6.

Phil Hughes pitched two innings and only allowed a hit as he started the game for the Yankees.  The rain delay affected Hughes not pitching longer and the Yankees went with Ross Ohlendorf for the next two innings which was a mistake.  Ohlendorf gave up five hits and five runs in only two innings of action.  LaTroy Hawkins also pitched two innings and gave up a earned run.  Talk about a bad pitching performance by the entire Yankees staff on Thursday night.

At the plate for the Yankees, Melky Cabrera hit a two run home run in the sixth inning to finish with two RBI.  Bobby Abreu also had two RBI in the game.  Derek Jeter and Morgan Ensberg contributed with one RBI each as well.

The Yankees’s record drops to 12-11 after the loss.

The New York Yankees coming back from a 3 game losing streak really needed a win today and that is just what they got.  Even with Alex Rodriguez leaving in the sixth inning with a strained quadriceps the Yankess were able to get another win under their belt putting them at 10-10 for the year.

With Andy Pettitte taking the mound for seven innings picking up his third win of the year putting him at 3-1, not much was left for Joba Chamberlain, Brian Bruney, and Mariano Rivera who were able to close it out giving up only one run in the 8th inning.

Alex Rodriguez picked up his 10th RBI of the season and he wasn’t the only one driving in runs for the Yankees.  Hideki Matsui, Johnny Damon, and Derek Jeter all picked up RBIs as well.

With the Yankees blood pumping hard after a much needed win, how will they face off against the White Sox on Tuesday?  I think they are going to come out and pick up another victory.  What do you think Yankee fans?

It was another nail biting win for the New York Yankees over the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday.  The Yankees had to get the go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th inning when Bobby Abreu singled in Melky Cabrera.

It would be nice to see the Yankees score more runs with the offense that they have.  These one run ball games will go to the other team sometimes, so the offense really needs to pick things up and not rely on the pitching staff so much.

Phil Hughes pitched six strong innings for the Yankees, and then it was lights out as Billy Traber, Brian Bruney, Joba Chamberlain, and Mariano Rivera held the Blue Jays down.

It was a good win for the Yankees who improved their record to 2-1.
